Xiaomi is all set to unveil its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro, which are rumored to be the first devices to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. We can expect the big reveal to happen before September wraps up.
Recent leaks from China suggest that both models will boast a significantly upgraded 50MP front camera, capable of recording 4K video at 60fps, featuring a wide field of view and autofocus—a rarity in the world of selfie cameras. This upgrade is set to deliver sharper, more detailed selfies and better performance in low-light conditions compared to earlier Xiaomi models.
On the back, the Xiaomi 16 will come equipped with a 50MP main camera featuring a 1/1.3-inch sensor, while the Xiaomi 16 Pro will also have a 50MP camera but will include Ultra High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities and a ToF sensor for improved depth and focus accuracy.
Previous leaks have indicated that the Xiaomi 16 will house a hefty 7,000mAh battery, a 6.3-inch flat OLED display, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera (potentially a periscope). The Xiaomi 16 Pro is expected to have similar specifications but with enhanced imaging features tailored for photography lovers.
With its powerful performance, upgraded camera technology, and impressive battery life, the Xiaomi 16 series is shaping up to be one of the most eagerly awaited Android launches of 2025.
